Kalamata: Co-living/co-working in a seaside city escape ideal for digital nomads

Dear friends from all over the world,

First of all, I would like to express my admiration to all of you who have chosen to combine and balance your work with your quality of life, by travelling.

I am sure that the experiences you gain by getting to know different cultures and civilisations are unique and will accompany you forever!

Greece is a country defined by the connection it creates with visitors and, above all, by the safety and hospitality it offers to all its guests. It is a country with a long history and a culture that exists nowhere else in the world. And more recently, that has become popular with digital nomads who seek to embrace these virtues.

For us, Kalamata, in southern Greece, is a city that fulfils all the prerequisites for both individual and family digital nomadism, with a process of harmonisation between our community and digital nomads that started a while ago and is now bearing fruit.

A seaside city that is ideal for digital nomads

Kalamata is easily accessible, with an airport and highway connections with Athens and into the Peloponnese, and combines a warm climate and activities and attractions with an excellent quality of life and an affordable cost of living.

It beautifully combines mountain and sea and there is a bicycle path that crosses the whole city on a magical route that starts in the historical centre and passes through the main square and a big green park before ending at the beach.

The history of the city begins with Homer and includes Frankish and Turkish occupations before being the city where the 1821 Revolution began and the first city to be liberated from the Ottomans. Today, 200 years later, Kalamata is a modern European city, included in the network of 100 climate-neutral cities in Europe.

Phaos is an ancient Greek word meaning means light and through our activities, we intend to give a little more light to this already vibrant city.

At “House by Phaos”, you will be able to work without commitment and to network, create and collaborate with local and visiting entrepreneurs. Membership gives you access to all the news of the community and allows you to participate in volunteering and entrepreneurship actions.
